11:30 you can distract without stealth btw. So you don't need to vanish.

A 5 CP Rupture has a base damage of 800 with a 25 Energy cost. Rupture deals 32 damage per spent Energy point.
A 5 CP Eviscerate has a base damage range of 904-1012 with a 35 Energy Cost. Eviscerate deals 27.37 damage per spent Energy point.

But...

Eviscerate can crit, and Rupture cannot. A buffed rogue should have a 30+% chance to deliver a critical strike which deals 150% damage, which would bump Eviscerate above the damage values of Rupture.

But...

Rupture doesn't really care about armor. Onyxia has ~4700 armor, and with 5 Sunder Armors and a Faerie Fire (and maybe even a stack of 3 Annihilator procs) she will still have about 1300+ armor, which gives around 15-20% physical damage reduction. This remaining armor will further reduce the damage dealt by Eviscerate, but if you happen to crit, it's still going to be the superior option.

Regarding number 9 - you don't have to vanish or initially be in stealth in order to distract a patrol.

Hi MetaGoblin - for trick #2 I use this macro:

#showtooltip cheap shot
/cast [stealth] Cheap Shot
/cast [nostealth] Gouge(Rank 5)

The stealth bar/action bar 1 can be a little slow or unreliable when coming out of stealth so I find using this macro off the stealth bar to yield better results.

11:30 You do know that you can distract when you aren't stealthed.. right? You don't need to waste your vanish like you said.

Ambush is the best lead for mages. If they iceblock u just wait behind it backstabbing as it doesnt cost energy and u can spam it until iceblock wears off. If they try to blink u blind then go oor of combat, stealth and ambush them again. Only the best mages will make you use preperation but sprint is your friend always as is a free action pot or a thistle tea. Gotta kill them fast as we are energy dependent and after your openers you are vulnerable unless you reset them using blind.

I can kill Hederine Slayers with rogue in blue-ish items. Ppl told me that im crazy, and Hederine slayers can crit u 3.2k in 1 sec (2 mele swings + mortal strike) but takes me 2 mins/mob.
