Pruning raspberries doesn't have to be an ordeal. In this video I showcase the visible signs for which canes to prune, discuss what time of year is best to do this, and elaborate on why I think it's important.

You are the first video I could find that said WHEN to prune! I was going to prune this fall, but I now know I can safely wait until spring. Thank you!

Thank you for your video. I loved your idea of the fencing, and to tame those branches and make it easier to pick the berries. You’re directions are easy to follow. Take care.

I knew nothing about this topic and don't know much about garden in ng in general. But your video is so easy to understand. This is so helpful! Appreciate you spent time making the video available!😄

Thank you for the images and explanations. I have a very old raspberry patch, though no trellising because we have the space. We just mow between the rows. The canes stand up themselves, and it's easier to get to the old canes and weeds.

Thank you. A neat and concise explanation, just what i was looking for. Love the trellis method. I may steal that idea. All the best from Lancashire UK.

Love the chop & drop advice!
What to do with live brown canes that are too tall ? Just prune to an acceptable height ?

I came here to learn how to prune an overgrown bed of raspberries. Thank you for this tutorial. I really had no idea how to go about tackling this project. I have a question about the wood used for the supports. Did you use pressure treated wood? Regular wood won't last but pressure treated has the chemicals. What should be used?

Thank you for the video! Do you have a vid where you show how you trellis your raspberries? I like how they look, they can be contained better. I bought a raspberry cane in spring, it was sad, now I have 5 talk canes Falling over (the stick I provided wasn't enough support) so yesterday I noticed they are growing roots from the tips that are touching the ground 😂 So I'm thinking about pruning now. I'm in Illinois zone 5b

Thank you. Now for my other question, how do I get rid of tall grass that has come up within my raspberry bushes?
