When I try to import an .ova file, it only allows for .ovf and does not even show the .ova files present in the folder., any idea how do i solve that?

I need to know if you can transfer (import) to/from two different PCs. I love Arch linux and those VMs are a lot of work once you include customizing them to just how you like them and I would like to know if I could export an ova file to a USB thumbdrive, plug it in another PC and import it and all work fine. Second question, one of your videos talked of importing a .vdi file but you never mentioned how you got the .vdi file. Thirdly, which is best - using vdi or ova files and what are the differences? Additional: I did find the vdi file. I copied it to a thumbdrive, so now just need to see if it will work in another PC (I'm going to make sure in VBox Manager I have all the same preferences)
