I believe this is called a handbrake turn…at least according to the experts at TG.

You do not need a handbrake. If it’s got the front diff, it’ll pull hard on the outside tire, creating enough force to bring the backend out.

That’s sad, I have a mk5 GTI and I only use the hand brake for a second then let go and the car has enough power to do fwd donuts

Handbrake turn not a powerslide. A fwd cannot powerslide. Full throttle mid turn will only get you understeer.

A lot of people let of the gas when initiating. Wheater your doing just a turn or you want to turn into a second drift. Keep the foot on the gas and adjust it accordingly and keep the revs high for better control
