You forgot to put extra screw in outside drywall anchoring the clips… now you just have a floating piece instead of a secured piece… no fully repaired

I just noticed at the end, the, “What did I do wrong” question, and so what you did wrong was not screw the clips into the drywall, making them pointless, because if you were to push up on the new inserted piece of drywall it would simply push into ceiling.

Use a 1×2 drill wood inside, remember where wood is placed, tuck it patch.predrill holes.

you asked me what you did wrong: you forgot also attach the metal clips to the ceiling itself, as soon as you start finishing, you can still push the plate upwards.

You are supposed to put a screw in both sides of that clip. So, one in the surrounding drywall and one in the patch. In this video, only the patch was secured to the clip.

Or just patch it with some drywall repair tape and mud 😂 the mud will secure it and the tape will hold it in place. Boom same way as they always have 😅 at least you're not doing a california patch
