Looks like a great lock. I'm stuck with my crappy August smart lock because my door has an old school bell turner door bell above the deadbolt, so it severely limits my smartlock options.

the lock itself might be cheap, but then you add the keypad and the hub and it's more expensive. would be nice if the keypad was backlit.

Ive got the old one and it failed after 1 year (constantly, need to recalibrate) after light to moderate use. Switchbot offered me a 20% discount on a new one (which you get anyway on their site).
Reliability seems poor, hope this new type is better.

Can you remotely unlock the door? For example, you are away from home, and a visitor turns up early, can you unlock the door to give them access?

How fast and accurate is the finger print sensor? Also why not just use ordinary rechargeable AA batteries do the rechargeable packs they sell last longer than rechargeable AA batteries? I'm assuming alkaline lasts the longest. I would be concerned with the adhesive on the keypad failing overtime being outside, or someone trying to steal it though I assume it's paired so can't be re-used with another lock with out unpairing the bluetooth. And also you have keypad batteries that need to be replaced verses a whole lock replacement solution where it would be connected to the back plate and run off the same batteries.

I've bought a Switchbot lock 1 year ago. I was loving it... BUT it's not accurate. It gets jammed a lot of times for no reasons and the engine inside it's not so powerful. Someone says it's related to manually opening the door that getting crazy the calibration.
So, this pro version could improve the situation?

did you test the contact sensor? Everytime I see it in the switchbot app, it shows open.

Seems like a good add for a rental or a place where you cannot change the lock and key, but I can’t get past the look of it. I wouldn’t pass the wife test.

Way too thick and unless you already have a hub it’s not that cheap.
