To catch flies the best attractant I found is dog poop you'll get hundreds of them in no time

If you want to trap fruit flies, you can put apple cidar vinegar with a little bit of dish soap in a container and put cling wrap over it. Then poke a few small holes for the fruit flies to enter.

Extra knowledge about how it works: The apple cidar vinegar attracts the fruit flies. They think they can land on the surface and drink it. The dish soap breaks the surface tension so they get sucked to the bottom when they land on it. If you put too much soap in, it might interfere with how much the fruit flies are attracted to it. The tiny holes make it harder for them to escape if they start to leave before touching the mixture.

This does not work at all I've had this set up for a week and not one single fly has gone near it, try old milk and an egg instead they love rotten manky smells works a treat 👍

I have Raid Fruit Fly apples. I'm going to add this or ingredients around the house once the solution it camd with runs out. I think the slots are just big enough to allow house flies even though only intended for gnats.
