I just bought a K1 for $349 from Micro Center. It’s my first printer and it’s working great! I do laser engraving so I’m familiar with certain things. It’s been a good experience so far with Hyper PLA and Inland PLA Pro. I’ve only used creality print, but I’m trying to learn how to make things using Onshape.

Regarding VFA, the community folks working on the Klipper Rooting have discovered that Creality only calculates the ringing frequency on Y and simply applies the same value to X, which would account for the results you mention. Using a full-fledged Klipper configuration would allow you to fix that. Just thought I would share! Thanks for the video!

Haven't read through the comments but just wanted to recommend trying Orca Slicer. I had major ringing with the Creality Slicer and not it had dropped a lot with simply using Orca. I use 2 K1 Max not the K1 but I would imagine the outcome would still be about the same.

I am looking to sunset my fleet of aging Ender 5's as they are nickel- and diming me to death, and this video was a big help in evaluating what's on the market to check out for their replacements, so thank you!

Im now going to buy this, got a good deal on it and was not sure if I wanted it as my first 3D-printer, but thanks to you I'm going to try it out.

Great video. Now that rooting / full Klipper access is available, I noticed some people diving in and fixing the limitation that Creality puts on input shaping. i.e; only measuring on _one_ axis and using that value for *both* X&Y. It would be interesting to know if having accurate input shaper values for X & Y has an effect on the VFA artefacts that you mentioned.

Ordered the K1 during Black Friday and immediately ordered the Micro Swiss FlowTech Hotend.
Set to ship on Dec. 20th, hopefully I'll have both from the get go.
Orca, root and FlowTech with 0, 6mm - I think it'll be a good combo.

Goodreview, I have thek1 max, it is an amazing printer. The creality print slicer needs more work! I hope they continue to improve it. I've tried the Orca slicer Italians comes up with longer print time than the creality says so I haven't printed from it YET. It would be great if creality would come upwitha cannedroutine to fully open up clipper instead of us risking brick ingredient themachine. Thanks for sharing us!

Subscribed! Just found your channel last week after a couple K1 purchases.
I bought a K1 via Amazon for $351 USD (with the camera) on Black Friday. The seller provided an extra v2 extruder and hot end.
A couple days later, on Cyber Monday, I bought a K1 Max on Amazon for $544 USD (with 4x free 1Kg rolls of filament). *Both of these prices are after tax.
Both are now rooted and ready to rock with Fluidd. Here's hoping I'll have some time this weekend to test them out because I need to sell off a couple of my older printers to justify these. Do I need both? Probably not, but Amazon provides me 2 full months of use before I decide.

Cheers for a smashing review, here's your well deserved sub and thumb-up!
BTW, the slightly too long chain can be shortened, I haven't gotten around to it myself yet since I'[m a noob and it's only a problem on big prints. (slowly getting there though) ;-)

Is there a reason you didn't root your k1 for full klipper after 6 months? I have my k1 for a few days now and it works nicely out of the box but still not sure if i will root it.

Couple of questions Noizie, I recently got a k1, it came with the new parts, getting it locked in, have you tried Orca slicer? Would you be willing to export some of your Presets for PLA/ABS/PETG just to compare speeds, acceleration, etc. etc. for my own curiosity. 2nd, what flow test are you using to get your Volumetric flow measurements if you don't mind? I am more of a resin guy, I have a custom neptune 2 with klipper, really trying to lock in temps and speed with this XY machine. Really feels like I have to pump the heat up a lot more than usual! Love your content, very thorough. Keep going and your consistency will pay off!

Considering the K1 and the FF Adventurer 5M Pro. I would like your review of the 5M Pro.
