Oh wow, I didn't expect an entire masterclass on my submission. I'm incredibly grateful for the advice! A few things to note might be that I'm entirely self-taught from books which makes it hard to get different points of view of what I'm doing, so these comments are immensely helpful. There are many points you make that I somewhat noticed myself, but also many that I never even considered at all.

Edit: Since somebody asked, I turned 18 a few months ago.

That book looks fascinating - Debussy, Britten etc all loved Gamelan. I wonder is counterpoint more rhythmic a la gamelan example than pitch?

You would play the G in the left hand as a third - I've seen that in quite a lot of piano writing

Hope you're doing well! You look kinda tired here, hope everything is going well.

Extremely interesting, and your comments must be invaluable. I would like to ask the age of this composer? Overall, I enjoyed the concerto, some good work I do get the impression you are not the greatest fan of "doubling" :-) Best regards David A.

Hello Classical nerd, new here, fascinating watch. I'm also in the process of writing a piano concerto. Any chance you could analyse my piece/bits of in much the same way you've done here? Obviously not necessary to have a public video. Perhaps a private online one-off lesson? Many thanks for your time.

This is interesting, but the piece is nowhere near ready. Composer needs to play the solo part again and again and look at some repertoire, feels very much composed on sibelius/finale
