Where was Karen Bass as 5 separate wildfires ravaged Los Angeles County? She was in Ghana, celebrating the inauguration of their new president. Turns out that Joe Biden tapped her because Ghana also inaugurated their first female vice president (why didn't he tap Kamala Harris instead??).

There were warnings about the oncoming 90mph winds and the chance of fires over a week ago before Karen Bass went to Ghana. So, yes, I think we should hold her responsible for being guilty of knowing ahead of going overseas. She does not get a pass.

I read an article years ago when there was another fire and the writer quoted someone noting that even Native Americans in California (obviously before it was California) had their own way of burning and clearing the land to prevent fires. THIS IS ANCIENT WISDOM. Somehow it's lost on these people in the modern day government.

Firefighter standards were lowered, to be able to have women in the field. This means not only are women a hazard in the field, but now weaker men who would have been weeded out are becoming weak firefighters. It isn’t just strength, it’s physical endurance. Why is it not okay to state the truth, and to recognize the strengths & weaknesses of both men & women?

I've been a wilderness fire fighter most of my life in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest where when not fighting fires we manage our forest with prescribed fires during specific times of the year weather conditions are key. As well as multiple other strategies such as lop & scatter which entails walking throughout the designated areas cutting all fire hazard debris on the ground up the lower hanging tree limbs into small pieces essentially to keep the flames minimal lesser chance of future fires flames from being able to climb into the treetop canopy where it's spreads like gasoline. Then also in areas where there's lots of debris it needs piled into hand piled 6 ft manageable burn piles for again weather conditions permitted. Then slash & burning such piles, I hope this helps shed some light on this raking the forest topic but hey what do expect when it's someone who isn't familiar with the actual work just repeating something discussed prior although the basic principle is correct.

I’m the one in your first video that first alerted you to this. Regardless of fires, I still don’t know how this visit furthers any benefit to the citizens or commerce of Los Angeles. What is the justification for this trip at anytime.

When I lived in Maryland there was regulation that dead trees and leaves could not be removed from open wooded areas. Made no sense to me back then. Very hazardous. I realize some environmental warriors want to protect certain things, but not removing potential kindling is a bad move. Would like to see those Federal and state laws restricting such things be changed. But, majority of blame for the CA fire damage rests on Gavin Newsom’s shoulders for not having water available to combat fires, particularly in the dry season.
