Should you upgrade from Lumion 12 to Lumion 2024? Let's find out! 🙂

If you have any questions, ask me in the comments below the video.

This is done using Lumion Render rendering software for architectural visualization. It’s a great 3D render software that saves a ton of time for architects because it helps you achieve the level of detail and realism not available in any other similar software.

Lumion Render is fully compatible with most 3D modeling software, including Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, 3ds Max, Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and many others.

Have you made the update to Lumion 2024 or still using Lumion 12? 🤔

The subscription for Lumion 2024 PRO now in the US $125/month while D5 PRO is only 38 bucks a month and only 30 bucks a month if you pay for the whole year. Lumion doesn't even give us the option of paying by the month either...just 1 lump sum. Many of the features in D5 seem so far ahead of Lumion as far as I can tell initially. I see features in D5 that I can't believe Lumion does not have considering they have been around 10 or 11 more years than D5. It's making me want to learn D5 more now so I can switch and not renew my Lumion subscription. 2024 is a great improvement from 2012 but still not on par with what D5 has. It is a shame because Lumion is so intuitive and easy to use, but until they start really bumping up their features, it's hard to justify spending that money when D5 can do much of the same.

We used lumion for many years, but the cost of it vs D5 just made the switch inescapable

I switched to D5 two years ago and i never looked back, lumion did improve a bit and i still find it attractive but i expected more from it. and also the price for my country is 12 times the average salary for regular people and 6 times for architects

This month i'm About to renew my Annual Pro License with D5, i invested $5000 on a 4090 Asus Laptop with 64GB RAM and 4TB SSD and $360 on D5 Render, i made my money back in 3 months, D5 Pays for itself because of the quick output and Livesync with 3dsmax, the quality is so good i can confidently offer interior animations that get render times that i used to get back with VRAY and 3dsmax at medium settings. Lumion can't catch up fast enough, D5 2.8 proved that already

Flawless and accessible software. Easy to use yet comprehensive. The only drawback is related to photo inserts. There are missing features that in Blender are called "shadow cacher" and in Vray "wrapper". That is, to build a model and project its shadows on the photo used as a background, making the Lumion environment invisible. Do you know if there are any updates on this?

the creators of Lumion lost many users due to their greed

Hi Nuno, what is for you the best currently in terms of photorealism in final result without post-production in 3rd party apps, D5 or Lumion (both in their latest version)? Not talking about other features or ease of use. So I mean purely the realism. Curious for your opinion. thx! :-)

Great video, I've been working since Lumion 7 pro, and this is something that kept me on Lumion. Anyone with a rtx 4090 will understand what can be done with raytracing.

like always, Amazing Video Mr Silva!
A quick question though, almost all of those are features added on lumion 2023. What are the enhancements between lumion 2023 and 2024 (other than the interface and new assets)?

Unreal Engine, D5 Render, Vantage all have killed Lumion in my opinion. I've used Lumion for years and made the switch I suggest everyone else do the same.

Is this what people are using to create those drone videos with the before and after shots of land to buildings being built over it?

Plzz Answer me silva. before you import your project to lumion for rendering where do you design them, which software do you use and also for the furniture and equipment, where can I get them to improve my rendering skills

D5 is soo far ahead that is unfair to compare with lumion

Nope I am not ready for the price per year it is much too much for me instead I learnt Unreal engine 5 and for quick and easy work D5 render.
I would have been happy to pay for an update but between 350 per year with D5 and more than a 1000 my choice is easy. It's too bad because I really enjoyed
working with Lumion but as long as they don't lower the abo price I am not doing it...

No 360 render using ray tracing, in Lum2024, is a great bummer, and i am surprised about u not pointing it out. In today's world we r going ahead with VR and lumion has not support for it yet. I have slowly started shifting to UE5 and D5 and never looking back at lumion ever.

which software do you use to design your homes before importing to lumion for rendering and also the non-lumion furniture and equipment. Plzz answer 👤👤
