Doesn't matter about your saw, your blade, your chain or your pants.

You still have your leg and you get to go home with a story.

This is why you wear your PPE.

As someone who didn’t think chaps were worth the trouble of getting this really opened my eyes

Welcome to How To Make Sure You Spend The Next 5 Hours Getting Your Saw Running Again. 🤣

Edit: Read the comments below to see how many ppl have no funny bone and found 0 humor is what I said as a joke. YouTube crazies at their finest. Some ppl take things way too seriously. They don't seem to realize that nobody gets outta this alive.

I'm getting a pair of those now, I can replace a chainsaw with a better and newer one but not my leg

This is why you always wear your ppe. Thank you for sharing I feel like some people who handle a saw just don't understand how serious they are!

Great lesson for the young beginner ... why these pants can save your life. It is however a bit of an expensive demo. Hope there were a lot of onlookers who paid for the class with enough money to cover the chaps. No worries about cleaning the saw ... thats the next lab exercise. Ha

My dad gave me a Stihl chainsaw with a 14” bar for my birthday and wrapped them in a pair of chaps. Those chaps have saved my kegs more times from axes and machetes that chainsaws. I have used the chainsaw a few times in the past month and a half since I got it on smaller trees but so far no accidents (knock on wood)

Chainsaw chaps saved my leg after the saw kicked back. even if the saw had been ruined ( it wasn't, took very little time to clear) it would have been worth it.

I do tree work for a living. Chaps are a must. I've personally seen them save people's legs .

Doesn't matter how hot it gets, my chaps are always on, and they are full of little nicks and cuts. If you run a saw enough, eventually you'll get into your legs. Usually after a long week of running a saw 10 hours a day, you get lazy and bring the saw to rest on your left thigh. The lazier you get, the closer the chain gets to your pants. Plus, trips happen a lot in the woods, snags, limbs, all the stuff that can get you off balance. They are especially nice in the winter, for obvious reasons lol. Even not running a saw, chaps are great. If youre pushing your way through the woods, its nice to not have limbs and pokey bushes stabbing your legs. And when you clean up brush you can just walk into the pile and use your legs to crunch things together nicely.

Thats the cleanest retired pair of chaps ive ever seen. So clean in fact the guy couldnt even tell if they were his old ones or new ones.

I have that saw, and those chaps!! Purchased them the same day and never looked back. I was using a bow saw and a pole saw prior to that purchase, one of the best investments I have made to date.
