Thank you, I've only been using the text box to type and not the type tool, so I needed to expand my text every time I needed to rotate it.

can one turn off having the text box rotation (not rotating text within), or does on have to use the free transform? I've been using illustrator since 2006 probably, and I've only recently stumbled upon this with cc '23, and it messes up my flow. more often than not I use set text boxes with a certain size, and this just really tripped me up. so—is there a way one can revert to old settings or turn this off, somehow? thanks!

After using Free Transform Tool on text, how do I access that rotation property to reset the rotation angle to zero?
