Pilot G2: Test & Taste Review

Here we look at an all time classic: the Pilot G2 Gel ballpoint pen. I've used it a lot and it's an immensely popular pen. We find out a little more about how it works, and how it's guts taste too.

My cousin told me, as a lefty, these G2s dig into the paper and scrape in a bad way, so they don't work too well for him. I meant to include this in the video. Sorry, David.

I prefer my ink chilled on the rocks, but whatever floats your boat. The gel is definitely an acquired taste, like truffle, or capitalism.

This one time in high school I was in the middle of band class, and happened to have one of these pens. I had never pulled out the ink cartridge and was curious to see what it was like. I looked at the waxy end and thought “hmm wonder if that would move at all”. I ended up taking off the black end cap and sucked it. It shot into my mouth and I was spitting a bunch of black ink up for the majority of the morning. Fantastic review Peter.

I remember in middle school I found one of these in my bag with no recollection of how it got there. For the time I had it before inevitably losing it- it was the best writing experience I’ve had with a utensil to date. I never realized it was a well known legend of a pen and I wasn’t just a rare case. By college I always made sure I had one with me in different colors and never had any problems with them. I have grown and changed as a person with and through the G2- more so than a lot of other items in my possession.

a) that is a CLASSY intro
b) as someone who uses the 1.0mm G2 pen for all their drawings, thank you for using the 1.0mm pen. there needs to be more love towards 1.0mm pens in our world
c) as a lefty it doesn't feel like the pen digs into the paper, either that or i jam the pen into the paper too much
d) please don't eat the pen ink

Pen cartridges are basically the yogurt tubes of the ink world, way more slurpable than an inkwell

ahhh I remember sucking on the end of ballpoint pen ink cartridges way back in elementary school, they taste like metal and mostly home depot. right on Peter.

This is my pen of choice, and I have tried the sharpie super fine tip, RSVP, a couple other brands that just didn't last long in comparison to the G2. I unknowingly push hard into my paper and this pen still glides smooth and not one of the pens has failed on me. I buy them in bulk on Amazon. I LOVE this pen.
