I’ve seen this video SO many times, and I still get goosebumps EVERY TIME!

Their "master arranger" is Ben Bram. He is credited on two of their three Grammy awards which were won in the category of "best a cappella arrangement." So they have a brilliant and talented arranger as the "sixth member" of Pentatonix.

The thing I'm noticing is they're singing with candles in front of them, which are barely moving, which shows the control they have over their breath!

When I watched their cover of 'Mary did you know' it was the first time I'd ever heard Pentatonix and I was BLOWN AWAY! So after listening to the song about 6000 times (give or take a few lol) I started searching for more of their amazing work 😊

💥💥These AMAZING arrangements are done as group colab...They do get some suggestions and or feedback from Ben Bram, an arranger that has worked with them since the beginning and he also introduced Avi to Scott when the group was being formed in 2011....but mostly the group arranges their own covers and or original songs...There are some videos showing this process especially during their time in the Sing Off competition....I'M HERE FOR YOUR PTX REACTIONS...MORE PTX PLEASE!!!!💥💥💥💥

I am so glad that you discovered Pentatonix a while back. I had the great pleasure in seeing them LIVE, in a very small venue, here in St. Louis, Missouri. They were traveling in a bus back then, and I was able to meet them before they boarded, and deliver a batch of homemade brownies, before they hit the road. They were fresh off winning the competition show, 'The Great Sing-Off'. It was a competition of Acapella groups. The rules stated that you had to have a minimum of 5 members. Scott, Mitch & Kirsty were friends from High School, in Texas, and with the competition in mind they put an add in various city's Craigslist postings for a Bass and Percussionist. That was how they found Avi and Kevin. They only met up just days before the show's auditions. They made the show's cut, and blew the audiences away from their first appearance. The five members did all their own arrangements for the show. That was another rule, and yes, the five of them did all their own arrangements, with the possible help of one other who is mentioned on several of their earlier albums, in a production role. They may have arrangement help now, but go back to earlier videos, and you will see some of the same professionalism in their techniques. If anything they are just getting better and smoother. I really enjoy your reaction videos.

What makes Pentatonix so special is that it all came together like magic. Mitch has even said in an interview that - and I'm paraphrasing here - it's not as hard as one might think. It comes together so quickly because they know each other so well. That said, they work on it as a team with the help of a professional arranger that helps them tweak it where needed. This is why I want to see your reaction to their earlier stuff...before the days of the professional arranger.

The layering of such beautiful voices makes this song moving and wonderful. There's another group called The Tenors who also did a beautiful rendition of Mary did you know. Unfortunately I couldn't find a decent of that one, but I do recommend the vid of their video for their version of Queen's Who Want's to Live Forever. Absolutely stunning!

The Superpower of Pentatonix is they know how to get out of each of others' way when someone else id in the lead.

Absolutely love Pentatonix! Have heard through more than enough channels that they all work out their arrangements, choreography, everything together as a group. They wouldn't be as Supurb as they are if they didn't! Can listen to them all day, with or without actual musical instruments. Having grown up singing in acapella choirs from the age of 8, is what I really enjoy about their music.
Absolutely THE Best Group I've heard in a Very Long Time!!
