Can the EU compete with US and China as a hub for green products? | Counting the Cost

The International Energy Agency estimates the global market for mass-produced clean energy will triple to around $650bn a year by 2030.

The world's biggest economies want a slice of that growing industry.

The United States Congress recently passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes billions of dollars in grants and loans to boost financing and deployment of clean energy projects. But it has sparked a trade dispute with allies in Europe.

Now the European Union has set out its own plan to compete with the US as a production hub for green products.

Elsewhere, we look at why Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is threatening the central bank's autonomy.

I Believe competition is Healthy.... It obligates everyone to become more creative and establishes a greater scientific research establishment.... It's important that along the way to share and partake in solving and creating more efficient processes... Eventually benefiting everyone.... Everyone needs to contribute as far as Scientific Development by Governments and or Private Sector.

The Green movement is bringing a paradox to the West: in one hand, they can impose such Green transition requirements onto the world, in the name of environment, to reap poor countries from affordable enegies, e.g. from coal and oil (without energies, good luck to development); in the other hand, Green tech, e.g. solar, wind, are at present dominated by China. Buying more and more solar panels from China can only empower China further, which could hinder the West's hegemony.

This is where they should compete. Pay attention- half of the world wide green energy investment was in China for the last year. That number tells a lot about how hypocrite some countries are when comes to emissions.

China invest in green energy more than 4fold of USA/Europe's, everyone can see who is serious in green energy in the world😀

It's a shame how YouTube puts so many adverts on aljazeera videos. I literally boycott all YouTube advertised products. There's no timing to the ads so they disrupt the videos and screw up the intent of the information, maybe on purpose. Every few minutes is excessive and showing how greedy Alphabet as a company are getting. Their AI is an idiot also, a company out of ideas.
