This is a commonly asked question about the Amp Academy. How to turn the pedal off. There isn't a traditional On/Off switch, so we provided a Bypass Function.

Essentially a PITA. A mode switch to make one button bypass the pedal would be a great addition. This one detail just stopped my purchase plan for two of these. Bummer.

Good to know, though to be honest I don't know why anyone would want to turn it off. ;)

It's actually a bypass which uses power.
If you unplug it, there won't be any sound.
I actually wanted to keep it plugged and shut the power down, but sadly, I think there's no way to do that.
So, when you don't want to waste any power, I guess you just have to unplug it.

Can I use Amp Academy as an IR/Cab only and use a separate amp preamp pedal wth it? (i.e can I disable the amp sim only?)

Can you tell me if i buy this pedal, do i have To buy amp too To play, or is a speaker cabinet enough?

Hi I have odd question. Is it possible to turn off Amp sim and use it as a IR pedal for recording with other pedals? thank you.

Is it possible to turn off the "pre" function and use the "IR" function and use an analog pre? Taking advantage of just loading "IR" with "pre" turned off?

Does the guitar signal still go through both the XLR out and the 1/4 inch out when the pedal is turned off?

I am totally new to this new world so I am connecting the XLR to a behringer umc (or Focusrite). It gets saturated particularly for Channel B. Any recommendations? Thanks

How does this compare to the boss ir200 or strymom iridium? The xlr is a plus over the boss ir200 but the lesser price makes me hesitate

Pedal is.... High TREBLE ... even using high cut is so Hard to use ....
