NUX Amp Academy PA Connection Question

Good question from a viewer today about the Amp Academy and how you would connect it to your PA system. There are two ways to do it. Watch and learn.

Usually there would be no need to do this, but technically you could also use the headphone output to go to either an amp or mixer, but you should keep the cable run as short as possible, and also be careful re: headphone output signal level.

Can you use both outputs (XLR and 1/4) at the same time? For live use, you could use the 1/4 out with the IRs OFF and use the amp’s return (to use it as a power amp) and at the same time send the XLR to the mixing console (front of house)? That way you can monitor yourself by hearing the guitar on the amp behind you onstage

I noticed the effects loop uses a 1/4” TRS cable. How do I use it with my time based effects? Do I need a special cable that splits into two 1/4” TS cables?

Hello, I’m using the effects loop for my delay and mod pedals. Thai works great for church going straight to the house . When I’m going straight into my guitar amp On other gigs can I bypass all of the Amp Academy processing and still have the effects? (The effects only work when the Amp Academy is on). Thanks

Can I use Amp Academy as an IR/Cab only and use a separate amp preamp pedal wth it? (i.e can I disable the amp sim only?)

Hi, when I plug an XLR cable into the D.I. Out port, if I additionally try plugging into the Guitar Output simultaneously to use for personal amp monitoring I am getting NOISE on the D.I out signal. Is this normal?
