If this fix doesn't work you, Make sure you've set the 'temporary files' folder and 'Videos' folder in the same drive (Preferably same local disk/partition) . As some users reported that it worked for them. Let me know if it works or not for you.

It doesn’t lag in nvidia but when I open the vid in my folders it stutters

Thanks so much for this ive been tryna use highlights for a bit but the video was all buggy and freezing and skipping this fixed it now it's working smooth cause this just makes making montages so much easier
