DIY: EASY MACRAME PLANT HANGER FOR BEGINNERS | MACRAME PLANTHANGER | EASY MACRAME TUTORIAL

For today's tutorial I wanted to share a very simple macrame planthanger that anyone can make. These are a quick project and would make a great gift for the plant lover in your life! And, because I know everyone will ask, the pot in the video is 7 inched wide and the pot on the thumbnail in 9 inches wide. You could also use a larger pot in this as well.

This planthanger measures 43 inches(110cm), but if you prefer a shorter length, simply shorten the length of cords cut and make less of the top Switch Knots. I don't recommend shortening the length of the bottom knots, as those are what will hold your pot into place.

Remember you can slow down any video on Youtube, just tap your screen and click on the three little dots that appear to adjust the playback speed.

In this video you will learn the Gathering Knot, Square Knot, and Switch Knot pattern. I did my very best to explain each, but if for any reason you need extra help with these knots, please watch these videos for further clarification :

My 4mm rope is from my favourite fibre supplier Ganxxet. Ganxxet is women owned and operated, their products are earth friendly and ethical, I could go on but you can check them for yourself here :
Right now they are offering my subscribers a 10% discount, just use code: soulfulnotions at check out.

HERE IS WHAT I USED:
-2.25IN/6CM WOODEN RING
- 4MM MULTI-PLY ROPE BY GANXXET CUT TO:
- 8 X 14FEET/425CM
- 2 X 2.5FEET/76CM

You can find me on Instagram @soulful__notions (2 underscores).

Fantastic tutorial! It was extremely easy to follow and got surprisingly easier as I kept knotting away. I had some 6-7mm cotton rope from Michaels and just adjusted the amount of knots as I went and it came out great. I can't wait to pick up some better rope and make more. Thank you so much!

This is a great plant hanger! Very easy tutorial to follow. I appreciate how clearly you show the switch knot as it was new to me.
I made it with 3mm cord instead and love it. Now I will have to make it again in the 4mm as I think the detail will be even more beautiful!!
Thank you!

Thank you so much I had one of these 30 years ago my daughter wanted it as she couldnt find one anywere the craft shop I bought mine from was another town but had gone so reluctantly I gave it to her when I sold my house leaving the solid brass hook I had in the corner of the ceiling.always regretted giving it to her only to find out when she moved house she threw it away.i was angry as she could have given it back to me.i never realised it was called macram. I just know everyone admired it.but hey I have been watching everything you make ..learning I subscribed but I never get notified when your making anything?? But I'm going to practice first with some string we have as I'm in scotland u.k and been trying to find the macram rope noones heard of it??? So until I find where I can buy it from I will try using the string.thank you god I'm 70 and now hopefully I can make this as you show everything you make clearly and explain clearly so happy I found you first time by accident.it was a xmas ornament for a tree and I have to keep looking for you merry xmas to you .SCOTLAND U.K
