Starting medication didn't feel like using a crutch, it felt like putting on a cape.

Very on point with the long term untreated ADHD consequences. There is a position stand of 200 facts about ADHD treatment in a peer review journal

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on meds. Recently I was diagnosed with ADHD and I find your channel very helpful.

Totally agree with the idea of adhd meds being a reversible decision. That’s a term I’d never heard before and it perfectly describes how folks can view the stimulant med decision. If you never take them you’ll never know how life changing they can be … statistically usually in a great or good way. And if they aren’t you pivot to other options like non-stimulants.

Regarding meds being like a crutch, I’ll take a crutch if I have a limp…and living in a world that requires focus and emotional regulation to be on par with your peers, adhd (mine anyway as we’re all different!) means I’ve a limp. So I’m happy to take the crutch to give me the level playing field relative to my peers!

Thanks Aron for your inspirational and informative videos!

The stigma of medication is still a very real thing to some people, but it's not about what everyone else might think. If it has the potential to help you become a healthier, more productive, more positive you, there isn't a good reason not to try it. Like You have to weight the pros and cons, but I would recommend doing so on medication if so prescribed.

(You may have to play around with dosage and different types of ADHD medication to find one that's right for you.)

For people that read comments and not the video descriptions, here is his video on various ADHD medications:

I really like your videos ! Thay are really helpful. But as someone with
adhd I would find them easyer to follow if you put more text alongise the
shot of you talking, such as the question you are answering and the
important points you just talked about. I tend to forget what you just
said and have to go back a couple seconds

I know it’s not curable, but are you saying it’s curable in a way down the line? And how so? Genuine question :)

Doctors I've had worried about the effects on the heart and others about the addiction potential (or selling them) even vyvanse and modafinil have been a no from doctors for all of those reasons. so really the reason is to cover their own asses because they worry someone will drop dead.
