It's not the meat I'm afraid of. Its what they do to it that scares me.
The industry needs to stop adulterating our food!

Thanks Professor and thanks Youtube that we get latest research as soon as it is released. Unfortunately our city physicians are all around are with their 15-20 years old outdated knowledge and spoiling public health. Youtube is a blessing that we don’t have copyrights on knowledge anymore.

The iron is only problem if you are hyperinsulinaemic.
So it is not the meat at all! It's the sugar you eat/dring along it...

So why did my A1C, tryglycerides and LDL go down, while my HDL went way up? I live a ketogenic lifestyle. Lots of meat, poultry and fish and eggs in my diet.

It’s not eating beef and fat that are bad, it’s mixing them with carbs and glyphosate. Look up the use of round up on crops and the graph of diabetes increase. They match

That is why grass fed grass finished meat is important. All these items he mentioned in video that is dangerous about red meat is very low with grass fed type quality. Important to distinguish between the two.

What about Chicken which is commercially raised? The feed is mainly Corn. What are the implecations of eating chicken? Most people talk about Red Meat as bad but never loon on Chicken as bad, especially when all the fat is removed. Does that mean we are just as much at risk? If so, what would be a better feed substitute, rice?

Stearic acid in meat is a healthy saturated fat that promotes less visceral fat and insulin sensitivity.

It really seems like a crap shoot as to how ones health will go. I've seen people who do everything possible to harm their health outlive people who have been eating clean their entire lives. And the seniors over the age of 90 that I've worked with have also eaten every kind of food imaginable in their lifetime without restriction or problems. I think there's a lot more to be said for someone's level of joy, ease and relaxation being conducive to good health rather than being hyper, obsessively focused on micros and macros like we are in the US at this point and time. The French don't just have better food laws, they actually sit together for meals and relax every single day, enjoy life being social while enjoying those meals. It's all of that which makes a person happy. In America we're shoveling food down our throats out of cardboard boxes while driving our cars!

I switched from plant based poly unsaturated oils to animal based saturated and mono unsaturated fats about 18 months ago. I no longer get sunburn even if I spend all day long in the sun! I only eat grass fed and fattened beef, free range duck & goose, free range chicken, goat & our own goat milk. I try to avoid all plant based oils & fats.

"A calorie is a calorie" Wow what a sham. I make myself a cereal a couple times a week with chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts and blueberries....about 800 or 900 calories but packed with fiber and fat. I love your book Metabolical, Dr. Lustig.

Red meat is higher in nutritional value than all plants. Protein and fats are essential, but no human requires exogenous carbs because the body can produce them internally. Iron is essential for red cell production. Animal protein is more bio-available than plant sources.

So, it’s the heme/iron yet he also says that the leaner beef is healthier than the fattier beef. I get he’s making a point about corn, but there seems to be a blatant contradiction in his argument. What am I missing?

I read a lot. Metabolical is probably the most significant book I have read so far. Very important information in there. Thank you, Dr Lustig. We need to listen to you.

Then why does the American Heart Associan recommend limiting saturated fats to 6% of calories (or ~1 tbsp)?
