2018 toyota chr transmission problem 80k miles

Hey everyone, I've noticed a bunch of us CHR owners are running into the same transmission trouble. Looks like most of these cars, including mine, rolled out from Turkey. I'm pretty convinced it's a factory defect at this point. Toyota hit me with a $9k repair bill, and I was like, 'no thanks.' Just curious, has anyone figured out a workaround or solution for this issue?

I have my CHR since 2018 no transmission issues till now 257k miles

My went out yesterday at 97k replacing the transmission with Geico mechanical breakdown coverage .. just 250 out of pocket for a new transmission

Im looking at this cuz I’m having the same issue. My cars about 90k miles. 😢2018 CHR. I always had high expectations of Toyota. Never had a problem with them.

Change transmission fluid on the chr sooner than others.

My wifes car has a slight whine on her 2019 with 67K miles, Dealer said it needs a Transmission.

I dont suppose you have this in your shop anymore, but do you know if this was a turkish built or a japanese built model? I have a 2019 that was made in japan and Im trying to see if its primarily the turkish made or japanese made ones that fail more than the other or if they both fail at the same rate regardless of where they were built.

How many miles were on it? Also, do you believe servicing the cvt at 40k intervals would have saved the transmission even though its just a drain and fill of about 2 and a half quarts?

Im looking at a 2018 with like 35k miles, should I avoid it? I hate cvt's but they seem to be in almost every car now. Coming from a 2013 Nissan rogue, one would think Toyota's cvts would at least better
