I saved $50,000 in the last two years by taking small steps every day to cut my expenses and put more money towards savings. In this video, I give 10 tips that have allowed me to save $2,500 a month and $50,000 in two years.

Saving money requires commitment, consistency, and patience. There is no one single tip or piece of advice that will allow you to save thousands of dollars. What you do and the choices you make on a day-to-day basis will be allow you to save a large amount of money. You should not expect your bank account to all the sudden have $50,000 in it without any work.

Savings is a way of life, not a means to an end. You should always be saving and not think that there is an end goal. Saving is about creating a "financial safety net" so that you can take more risks and enjoy life more.

Money Saving Tips

1. Change how you view saving
2. Track your expenses
3. Separate your money
4. Save with every paycheck
5. Pennies Matter
6. Pay for prevention, not cure
7. Choose hobbies wisely
8. Don't upgrade your life
9. Things don't buy happiness
10. Treat your body as an investment

My nana always says 'look after the pennies, and the pounds will look after themselves'. She's always been brilliant with money

Subscribed! I am frugal too and although shows and clothes do make me VERY happy, I still watch my money very closely! Consumerism is the new disease !

I’m curious, so if you have those 50k$, you’d travel and use it all? And then just save up until you can get more money to do it again? I used to do that when I was younger but now I’m 55 and I think maybe I should get a condo or something as a retirement security. But I love to travel so I don’t know if buying something would be the right thing for me.

I worked with a young lady a few years ago who told me that 'she hated change' (coins) and that she would actually throw her coins on the ground because they were 'trash'! So many folks would leave their change in the pop or snacks vending machines. Every night after my break, I would casually reach into the 3 machines and collect the change. I would bring home between $10 & $20 a month!

Nice video. Do you have a car? It makes unfortuenaly the most expenses. But I need it to drive to work. And what about hair? I visit the hair saloon every 2 or 3 weeks. It gets annyoing. Also buying dye for grey hair :(

Thanks for any advice.

Austin you are so wise for your age, I wasn't as wise as you at your age, I am frugal now, but I had to learn the hard way and by the way you are as cute as a button, looks and personality, I can say that now, I'm a 68 year old lady hahaha!😊

Took nearly 4 years for me to save that amount on a small salary. You can still spend, just place limits. By the time you save more, you get used to actually spending less. Then, it feels bad to spend more when you made it a habit not to spend as much. Ironically, you do have to spend some (treat yoself) in order to continue saving. Getting up every day and working. Discipline and being consistent on saving a majority of your paycheck becomes the norm. You are essentially creating your own security or nest egg.

I can never understand people who have just one bank account. I have six, all have their own purpose.
