Racism on rise in Tunisia

African migrants living in Tunisia say they're now regularly subjected to verbal and physical abuse. That's despite the constitution prohibiting all forms racial discrimination.

Tunisia is an african country not arab, and we are not racist, however there is no country that can handle 700k immigrant a year, especially if that country is also poor, if we continue accepting immigrants like this, in few decades tunisia is going to be home to the entire continent population

Tunisia is not EU it is a poor country.. Due to that there are thousands who risk their lives to immigrate illegally to EU by sea... This includes other Africains mostly subsaharians who a lot of them come to Tunisia in hopes of attaining EU
Some go illegally .. others study & even work here awaiting the opportunity to go to Europe and some just give up and settle in Tunisia.. unfortunately some don't integrate and respect that we are a Muslim country with tradition and values ... which is why they feel and are excluded from the rest of society.. Tunisia again is a country in crisis and the mass uncontrolled non selective immigration is not making things better and that's mostly why some may act unwelcoming towards the main mass immigrants "subsaharians" which happen to be black
There are some racists sure.. but there are a lot of black and dark skinned pure blooded tunisians .. we're not a white country we are africain/arabs after all

The africans were never mistreated on a massive scale in tunisia. Few isolated incidents. A few people exploited this to get a free plane ticket home and claimed to be scared so they can go home under the pretence of repatriation. They were willing to slender the Tunisian people and damage their economy for a free ticket. A "nation wide crackdown" but not one injury or even a cellphonefootage. The truth is that the current president studied law and is definitely not a racist. He was refering to a new movement, the idea that Africa is a black continent and how the motherland should be reclaimed, and the ideaology?IT EXIST. Its not a conspiracy its real. People judge this president for sacking 69 judges, but they dont live in a society were being a terrorist or have commited violence against women you get send of with a slap on the wrist, but teens that get caught with a joint get send to prison for 15 years. You dont judge. I as a Dutch Tunisian applaud both his effort to protect the progressive foundation stones layed by Bourghiba aswell as his efforts to protect the Tunisian borders from misery.
