Clip studio is superior. The fact that you can convert vector to raster and raster to vector, is one of the many reasons why Clip comes on top

of course CSP is superior and professional level esp for comic art... its not even a contest, saying procreate "beats" because its simplier just means it doesn't have enough tools .. and missing a lot of things to make it truly professional

just wanna mention that you can turn on an option to see your brush outline as you hover in procreate

One point I think is missed is, if youre used to Photoshop, then Clip will be easy to use. Familiar interface, along with many shortcuts being the same. Photoshop was my main since PS 5.0 and I use all three. Only in the last couple of months, Clip has become my main for work.

Both are beautiful and work great in their own way. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with ❤ and I love procreate. Have a lot of health issues and procreate works best for me. And helps me de stress as an artist

I bought Procreate years ago and tried full CSP for free three days ago. I don't know so much of the program, but I gotta admit it... Procreate would be my number 1 art program, only and ONLY IF IT HAD THE BLUR TOOL. The smudge/finger blur tool isn't for it, if you're good at it good for you. But I wish Procreate had the brush variety like CSP, and also. I would be the bomb CSP allowing their brushes for Procreate.

I use Clip Studio Pro on Window. Looking to get an iPad pro for on the go art. Thanks for the overview. Procreate looks kind of like Sketchbook.

4:48 it has brush curser but you need to enable it in the prefs section

The thing about Clip Studio is that you can literally customize almost every aspect of UI. You can easily make it look like a different software, turn windows on and off, edit the quick access areas and whatnot. It takes some time to get used to the program because of how much there is to explore, but you can easily make it look like something easier to manage (toggle things you use and don't use in "window" tab, and you can drag them around freely!) 🥰🥰

tbh I prefer CSP because I can set individuals pressure curves for different brush functions in addition to my general pressure curve. I dont like to press hard so my pressure curve is very sensitive but sometimes want to keep the texture of certain brushes so I adjust their curves individually to be less sensitive. I really don't like procreates brush engine as I can't figure out how it works and don't want to adjust the pressure curve everytime I use a certain brush. Also I don't like how flipping a canvas is registered as an action. usually I want to check if the brush stroke I did also looks good when flipped and when it doesn't I can't undo it before my canvas is flipped again... It's just not user friendly imo

Clip Studio Paint is subscription on the iPad and its user interface is not optimized for a tablet. Those are its biggest cons in my opinion.

I'm very much on the fence about getting clip studio (as a procreate user) because I only have my apple ipad and the reviews for it on the app store are so bad that I'm very hesitant to take the jump.

I own both butni mainly use procreate for sketching and blocking as i mainly use it when im on a trip or in coffee shops. CSP is for rendering and fine tweaking of my sketches in procreate as it has many customization

I still don’t want to pay for the subscription for clip studio plus the doodle version is too confusing so I’ll stick to my procreate thanks

4:59 I will say, there is an option to turn this on, but it took me a while to even know option existed XD

One thing that needs mentioning is that Clip Studio Paint is compatible with Photoshop ABR bushes and PSD documents. Been using it for years after a long while on Photoshop

I think the learning curve is one big factor aswell.

So, if I already have Clip studio and already learnt how to use it, but I'm also interested on how simple Procreate is, should I buy an iPad? Is it worth the price? or should I go for a Samsung Tab? D:

I tend to sketch in Procreate and ink in Clip studio as the pens in CSP are better (at least for me).

In clip studio paint you can also customize the interface to be as much minimalistic as possible
