After working in Fast food and retail for much of my high school and college years. Mad respect. The people who look down on fast food workers are those people who grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth.

Wow, our McDonald’s never fills up the fries like that. They are usually half empty

i love how the little fry machine just shits out fries into the basket lol

This perfectly explains the varying saltiness i experienced at McDonalds from time to time.
7:36 salt, 8:07 salt for the same pile of fries.
8:54 two baskets of fries into one bay, 9:05 only one dose of salt for thos two baskets.
We are just humans, mistakes happen. Thank you for the insight.

As a former mcdonalds manager that worked diff types of locations this is the most romanticized and calm I've ever seen. No yelling, chaos, or even backround chatter and not even expired fries 😂

I remember sitting in the front of Mcdonald's waiting for my brothers shift to end so we could hang out, and his boss let me just chill in the back and watch him. This was a small town McDonald's, and they were wrapping up for the night, got a free 20 piece, and got to scoop my own fries. It was very mesmerizing, watching everyone and how you could follow one person and after a couple "passes" you understand EXACTLY what their job is.

When I was 16 I spent most of my summer working at the local McDonalds. Being on Fry duty was probably my favorite thing, didn't have to deal with customers, take orders or deal with mess ups. Your only duty during lunch and dinner rush was stand there and make fries. And every once in awhile step back look at the drive thru screen and the lobby to see if you are still in the thick of it or if it was time to slow down. During lunch or dinner rushes it made my shift go by so fast having to work quickly and efficiently at the fry station. Granted I wouldn't want to do that as an old man but as a young 16 year old I actually liked how fast paced the fry station was. Not to mention you kinda felt important because pretty much every order would have fries so people where depending on you in that sense. If you messed up and made too much and cold fries got put into orders it was on you. Kinda felt like an IRL Papa's pizzeria game lol.

Anyone who fills my belly up with food deserves my respect!

This was strangely calming. I used to work fries at Mcdonalds but I was also packing bags, getting my own refills on fries, felt like I was never just there and the fry timer was never long enough.

I used to have to do this by myself, at like... 11 pm during a rush. Have so many memories of just trying to keep the timer under a certain level. Props to you man.

This really does make me miss working at McDonald’s. My location had an amazing GM. She asked me to work her 6am-2pm and in return she gave me a ride to and from work every single day. I’ll never forget her. I know I wasn’t as appreciative in the moment, but looking back she really helped set me up for success. I miss doing fries! 😭

mad respect for fast food workers! i only get pissy when they royally screw up my order, otherwise i always say thank you. I've never worked fast food but i have to say it was damn near relaxing to watch you make french fries..

I left the food/retail industry 4 years ago after doing it for over 20 years, but my respect for the employees who still do it will never die. It's a vicious and repetitive hamster wheel with a lot of yelling and sleight of hand with high alert nerves! I don't miss it. Though I never worked at a McDonald's, I see their employees always moving when I go. It takes a special kind of courage to work in that environment.

I love how every McDonald's is set up the same way. In high school, I used to be in that spot and the rush of cold air coming through the open window at the drive-through would feel so good as I was getting scorched from the hot fryer and the burning heating lamp.

I always look at the kitchen in horror when going to mcdonalds.
This video made me realize working at mcdonalds might not be as chaotic as I assumed (still pretty chaotic imo).
But once you understand what the different chimes and alarm sounds are from, it clears a lot of "distractions" and "feel of being overwelmed". It becomes convenient for the worker even, having a timer and all. (I did not know this, thank you)

This is how you fill it up. Respect and this feels so soothing to do. Keeps you busy too.
