Sorry to hear about the fin rot. It is a nasty bugger that iften attacks Beta fish.
I know the filter you are using. They are good and do a good job with a few minor issues. Chsnge thst insert to actual bsgs. zeo Carb and a few pices of Lava rock will do fine.

Honestly it probably wasnt fin rot older bettas tend to just have ratty fins
