1 (3 lb 7 oz) Box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda

1 (4 lb) Box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda

4 bottles Dollar Tree Fabric Crystals

Directions for DIY LAUNDRY DETERGENT

1. Grate zote soap with cheese grater or food processor.

2. Mix all ingredients together in a large bucket.

Hey Friends HERE IS THE COST BREAK DOWN! I also added a link to a Liquid HE washer safe version
Zote Soap x2 (1.00 each at local dollar store)
Borax ($3.97 Walmart)
Arm&Hammer Washing Soda ($3.97 Walmart)
Baking Soda 4lb box ($2.24 Walmart)
Awesome Oxy Clean x2 (1.00 Dollar Tree)
Fabric Crystals x4 ($1.00 Dollar Tree)

Total $18.18 Im not sure how that breaks down into per load but I know its .05(half a penny) per day for 1 year but Im not sure how to calculate further.

Here's a link to a HE washer safe Liquid version. Of course I haven't tried it but it looks good!

I've been making this for a year and a half. It lasts me 6 months, but we have 8 people using it. I use a quarter of a cup per load. It works so well on stains. I will never go back to buying detergent.

You can cut down on time by cutting the Zote bar into about six or eight pieces. Then add it to a blender with a approximately one cup of Borax or baking soda. And it'll result in like a fine powder. It took about two minutes!😎

I found mixing each layer as you go easy for me personally. Just thought I'd share to anyone that is considering doing this♡

Another tip: When pouring and mixing it all together, make sure to wear a dust mask.

I made this, and I love it. I couldn't find fragrance crystals at my dollar tree so I got them at walmart. The clothes do come out clean and smell great.

next time dump everything in double trash bags and then you can toss the bags around to mix and less mess. :)

Just to let u know they sell that Zote laundry soap already shaved! I think that can make it just a bit easier to allow anyone to do it :)But it is like 13 cents more, at Walmart lol
Love your channel, congrats on over 60K!

tip if you micro wave the zote soap it dehydrates the bar so that you could put it in a bag and bust it up with a hammer into powder rather than grate that bar by hand.

I've been using my own homemade laundry detergent for about two months now? We love it. Since I use a high efficiency machine, I only use one tablespoon of detergent. It smells great. I miss the top loader I had a couple of years ago. It just seems like a cleaner wash with more water. If I still used a top loader then I'd use 3 to 4 tablespoons. Yes I wash in hot too. My daughter washes her delicates in cold and hasn't had any problem. We add this detergent straight into the drum on top of the clothes though. A couple of the tutorials I watched said to do that in the HE, not to put it in the dispenser. So far, so good.

When I made this, I mixed as I went along, so I didn’t have to mix the giant batch. I keep the large amount in an airtight container, and a smaller amount in the Awesome Oxy container, using that scoop. I use this mixture as a laundry booster with clear and free laundry detergent. Thanks for sharing!
