Halo 3: ODST Soundtrack - More Than His Share (Extended)

This track's name is actually "Into the breach" (Or badidea in the files), but for the sake of visibility I'm going to name it after its OST counterpart.

Yes, your ears are correct, this version does sound less sharp than my teaser. I originally equalized the track to bring out some more of the elements that appeal to listeners, but I then realized that if you're going to EQ a track, don't. I pumped the bass up too high, which created a rumble that was unpleasant to people with bass-heavy headphones.

CE and ODST are my favorite Halos. Odder still, Halo 4 was my first, ODST my second, and Reach my third on XBox. Only in the past year did I get the MCC on PC and play through CE. Something just feels RIGHT. They're both lean, having few surface-level mechanics relative to the others (no dual-wielding, equipment, armor abilities, spartan abilities, or even sprinting), but they have depth. The keys are in the right places, it's easy to use and play, but difficult to master.
Surely, both have issues, ODST and CE, but I love them. From the art styles (not the grimey-gray that mixes together on OG Halo 2 or the overly stylized 4 and 5, but a simple military aesthetic), to the music, to the gameplay, to the story, I love them.

The entire halo ost is filled with unbelievably good tracks, but this is way up there. I suspect nostalgia plays a big part, but this hits a special auditory sweet spot in my brain
