What are your thoughts on Alien: Romulus? Are you looking forward to it?

It made me think of the setting for Alien: Isolation, which had some exceptional atmosphere. I hope they look for what that game did well and share some of it with movie audiences.

Knowing that the director made both Don't Breathe and the 2013 Evil Dead, I say this film is in good hands.

With an interview with the director, they said they aren't using as much cgi and more practical affects done by the same company from the first couple of movies.

Well, the director and writer come from fairly meh horror/splatter movies - and that's what it looks like only with Alien aesthetics.
But the bar is low and it seems to have an Alien: Isolation (2014 video game) vibe, which could be good actually.

An issue I see with people saying they’re “going back to their roots” with the franchise is that even the original films knew to move away from them immediately in the sequel. Aliens isn’t a horror movie, it’s action. We’ve already seen the Alien so it will never be as scary as that first time.

Hope they’re do something new with the concept to make up for it.

Holy crap, went & watched it. The TEASER is scarier than most Alien movies since "Aliens", maybe "Alien Cubed".
