Yup, this was about the same how I used to do it, but with springs. :)

I definitely think this is a good idea because with those proper mods, you can't switch between normal H pattern shifting and sequential (even though they cost only £6)

A problem though is that it is very weak compared to the actual mods but I think I'll go with this as I can change

great video, but i`m also thinking you can do this to have an e-brake for drifting

If I did this to my shifter, would it damage anything? What I want to do is simply pop the elastic on and off so I can switch between H shifter and sequential. Using it as an h shifter would still work fine after I remove the rubber band right? I just want to make sure it won't damage anything.
