Classic signs of the transmission slipping

Same problem here, I fixed it by doing a complete transmision fluid change, I had to change the two filters it has, and used presurized air to completely extract all old oil, use only the original one (nissan ns2) valvoline won't handle the heat, based on your current speed looks like your torque converter clutch suffered an overheat and is slipping when it tries to lock in position

This happens to my rogue too! I've taken it to different Nissan dealers and they can't fix it! You accelerate and the car does not move! This has happened so many times and on the highway it is so dangerous!

160, 000 miles that’s incredible. If it’s the only time you’re having transmission problems change the fluid who knows maybe that’ll fix the issue 🙏🙏 🤞

Been dealing with this for last 2 years once my rogue went over 60k miles. Usually when it is driven long distance in heat (over 82F) it starts slipping like that and stops accelerating unless you stop it in the side for 5-10 minutes to let it cool down. Nissan won’t cover it unless it reads an error under diagnostics. One dealership told me to bring it as soon as it starts slipping without turning it off to show error which is the only way Nissan can cover transmission fix under warranty. He then took it and drove it, did a trick of slamming break and drive at same time to have engine light turn on. Nissan covered it then ( they extended transmission warranty to 84k or 5 years due to their horrible make). I’d say don’t buy Nissan if you can, if you ready have it, either replace it or install a cooler to reduce overheating which causes slipping. But definitely after this one I will never get Nissan ever again nor recommend it to anyone I know.

It’s the cvt transmission belt failing, replace the belt in cvt transmissions or result in a failed transmission.

Mines does the same thing couldn’t figure out what is was until I finally got a check engine light… it threw a code p0744 indicating that the torque converter clutch solenoid is faulty, or the torque converter is defective all together. This system is inside of the transmission which drives the chain inside of it. This what causes your rogue to not accelerate and will go into limp mode to prevent the transmission from overheating

Mine is 2022 and starting the car up, and drive the rpm keeps rising and won't shift unless you turn the gear knob to a different mode like eco or back to normal then it'll drive normal. Nissan doesn't even have a solution or opinion what may cause this. We need to make complaints do there's a recall.

I had this problem years ago... It turns out it was spark plug #3

Transmission, sorry to tell you that… That car looks new. If that is a rogue, I would take that to the dealership tomorrow!

Misfire or even a vacuum leak can cause an improper signal from engine speed/attitude, to transmission
Good ole smart-cvt issues

Its probably in limp mode it could be a sensor mine was the mass airflow sensor

Might want to replace brake switch under the break pedal.

You have 2 options...use thicker oil and keep using it till the transmission completely fails or swap it.... rebuilding them is a big head ache...swapping is the easy way out ..

Brake pedal switch is what fixed mine. Will it move if you lift the brake pedal with your toe?

When this happened to me not long after my CVT failed; TORQUE CONVERTER

It is the cvt transmission Nissan has put in for safety in case the engine gets too hot and there is no fixing it. I had the same problem with mine best bet is to get rid of it and get something that ain’t Nissan
