So you know the mission where you have to become professor black then get into his office and going to the book, I think the mission is called Niamh Fitzgeralds trail, after that mission you can go back into professor's black office and there's a door that you have to pick the lock, once you open up that door you go up the balcony stairs and you pick that lock, go up the stairs into the room and you'll see the key right there on the table

This is not IN the headmasters office. Theres a door actually in the headmasters office that can't be opened so this is a misleading title.

So I got here and the door doesn't have the lock on it nor will it open. The door glows when I use revelio but that's it.

FOR ALL WHO CAN'T GET IN THE DOOR. You must FIRST progress through main quest line until you do your 3rd trial with Niamh Fitzgerald. After completed the quest and finishing the trial, is when you can go back and should see the door. Make sure you have level 3 Alohomora.

Doesn't work. The whole door just turns blue when I cast revelio. No option to use alohomora

The lock on the stairs is not there either so do I need to do more of the main quest to get in there

It won’t let me land on that balcony. It keeps saying “you can’t enter while mounted”. Is there another way to get to the “room with a view”?

It works, but you have to do the polyjuice quest first or third trial.
