Erbil, Kurdistan ➖ After hyping up the Kurdistan market hunt video for a while, I decided to hit up the Grand Baazar and see how my bargain skills performed. We started off with a spontaneous kebab meal and then went on a fake Gucci buying spree, snagging a wallet, bag, watch and much much more! We also met some super friendly locals that shared our love for shisha, so we had to spend some time with them and chat a bit about our experiences so far in Kurdistan!

Erbil has become quite metropolitan in recent years. Many people you interacted with in this video are not Kurdish. Slemani is more Kurdish (less international/mixed). If you want it even more Kurdish, you should visit cities in Iranian Kurdistan, like Sine/Sanandaj and Merîwan/Marivan. Or in "Turkish" Kurdistan, cities such as Bidlîs/Bitlis, Dersim, and Bazîd. Smaller towns, barely visited by foreigners, but more authentic.

5:08 that yellow “soup” you can across is what we call “tirshi”, it’s basically different vegetables fermented in vinegar and something else that gives it that yellow look. Not entirely sure, mama makes that and is common around Kurdistan lol
