an lg firmware update adds hdr game mode for games running in hdr. all you need is a thumb drive and head over to support / downloads at lg website. follow directions. brings input lag to 36ms, which is very very good. feels nearly instantaneous, but it depends on your game's frame rate just a little.

Randomly fluctuating input lag is a really really REALLY bad thing! Because it means you cannot even adjust your brain to it, because it will randomly be going higher and lower, so you will randomly miss shots, turn in points etc. At least if the input lag is high and consistent, you can adjust your brain to it, because it is a known quantity.

It's a problem on PC gaming as well, even with vsyncless/gsync/freesync, because this "pre rendered frame queue" keeps fluctuating, even when you lock it to 1 prerendered frame in the Nvidia control panel or RadeonPro, the game engine itself can still override that setting, dynamically changing the number of prerendered frames as the GPU load changes. Depends on the game engine though. For example with iRacing, there are two pre-rendered frame settings: one in the Nvidia Control Panel (or RadeonPro) and another one inside the game options. Only if you set them both to 1, do you get a consistent lag. But many game developers implement their own pre render frame queue logic and do not let the user control it.

so lg was lying when they said all models share the same processor. That irregular lag must be the reason why some ppl complain abt stuttering in B6 model

I recently bought the B6. Plays gears of war 4 great in HDR I don't notice input lag. However playing NHL17 I notice it unless on game mode.

I'm on the fence to buy one of those OLED TV's. I was set on getting the B6 until I read and saw these reviews about the input lag issues. And recently, as many of you know that LG released a firmware update to fix this issue on the E6 and C6, but no news so far if the B6 is going to get a fix because it has a different chipset. Does anyone know for sure if the B6 is getting the same fix soon?

Like mostly everyone here, I'm looking to upgrade to a 4k hdr TV. I'm a casual gamer and this input lag has me concerned. Not sure if I should go for a C6 or KS8000/9000. Then again my older Samsung TV has done fine on game mode so perhaps this shouldn't be a huge worry?

Hi guys,

I have been following your for a few years. Due to the release of PS4 PRO I was looking to get an HDR enabled, low input lag TV up to £1200. Any suggestions?

Coming from a lack of knowledge.... how does this affect me? By that i mean, I watch movies on my TV, I watch 4k Youtube videos on my tv, and I play games on my tv. I play xbox 1 games like fallout4, COD, and minecraft. How does msec lag effect me? I understand that lower is better, but that really means little to me since it is in Millisecs, can i even discern the difference in high and low lag?
