All of this fan art depicts Joy Boy as this badass Luffy clone. Watch Oda draw him as a weird ugly giant or something

this is the closest we will get to a Wano Analysis video, folks

Another similarity is vegapunk saying there has been an ongoing war in secrecy for 800 years, whereas no one knew the raid on onigashima was going on during their festival.

This fits with my theory that the term king of the pirates is a misunderstanding/mistranslation, and actually the term is "the pirate king" and instead of meaning king of pirates, it means the king who was a pirate

The fact that Joyboy was the "first pirate" implies that freedom was restricted even in the Ancient Kingdom. Maybe the D clan aren't the good guys either and perhaps it was overthrown because of its evil. The World Government could've started as good and spiraled down to what it is now.

Joy Boy and Oden mirroring each other's lives would be so satisfying to read.

If the Void Century flashback truly parallels Oden's, then I feel really bad for Toki as she would have had to experience basically the same events twice.

i agree with your points Morj, although i just simply wouldn’t bet on Joy Boy’s story to be an absolute mirror of only Oden’s story. More like, we’ve gone through so many arcs and various motives like to repeat themselves over and over.
I would bet that Void Century/Joy Boy’s story is going to be a mixed culmination of everything we’ve experienced throughout Luffy’s story so far. It’s a spiral

So would you say nobody else was sailing the seas before Joyboy including the other kingdoms? If so for what reason?.

What if Poseidon ruled the seas at the time of Joyboy, controlling the Sea Kings to dominate them. It would interesting if Joyboy, born with the original Voice of All Things, was able to communicate and become an ally of Poseidon to then freely sail the seas. The new freedom as the first Pirate allowed him to become an ally of Zunesha too who nobody would have seen before if they weren't exploring the seas.

Wano was closed off for a reason derived from the time of Joyboy, but there must have been a huge reason to deny sea travel for the Ancient Kingdom.

Addung to this: Elbaf was probably still an island back in the days of the supercontinent, and Joyboy traveled to it and established himself as a legend after defeating numerous Giant warriors. He also battled Sea Kings hand to hand, flooring the expectations of everyone because only powerful battleships could hope to cobtend with them. He also fought the creatures who are now known as the Gorosei. Joyboys journey was likely similar to Luffys, except instead of trying to find the One Piece, he was sailing all over, fighting everyone who would dare try to match his strength.

I have always thought that Joy Boy was a Kozuki, and that is the reason why Oda intertwines the panels of Joyboy's return with those of Hiyori saying that Kozukis always keep their promises.

Joyboy is like Noland, and the ancient kingdom is like Shandora. Imu was like Enel, commanding the 20 kingdoms like Endel did with skypia. The 5 elders are the priests. It would imply Imu destroyed his home land like Enel did, maybe the moon, somehow rendering it inhospitable. He more or less does the same to the One piece world right now, rising water levels and all.

I think the D is just a symbol just like the half moon that was on the feet of the kozuki supporters. Might seem really really REALLY silly, but, The first names of the people with D. in their names are the names of Joyboy's vassals (Jaguar, Trafalgar, Marshall, Gol, Portgas, etc.) If we follow the whole inherited will thing, then it makes sense that as support grew, others took on the D. in their name, the same way the kozuki supporters took the half moon symbol in show of support/allegiance.

This is a solid theory, especially knowing what we know about the Ancient Kingdom being submerged; it parallels old Wano being submerged under current Wano
