How to Use the Read Aloud Think Aloud Strategy in Any Content Area Classroom | Kathleen Jasper

In this video, I go over one of my favorite daily activities I used as a teacher. Read Aloud/Think Aloud not only helps students with their metacognition and understanding of complex academic text, but it also engages students and helps them relate the reading to their lives. I LOVE this strategy.

Hi Kathleen, thank you so much for your videos. I’m a business major but switched my career to teaching. I use this method but never knew what it was. I felt that my students would benefit more if I incorporate discussions while reading. And it has been effective. I know they understand my lectures because they all have A’s and B’s and participate during class discussions. I hope to learn more as I like using traditional teaching styles rather than have them engage with technology. I hope to see more videos.
