I can't say for certain that they are bad luck or not but I can assuredly say that they are thieves.... They will steal your heart.

We got a black cat at an adoption event that you (Jackson) were helping promote. I remember you telling my soon to be wife and I about how excited you were we were adopting a black cat. She's the sweetest thing ever, and has been nothing but good luck and good vibes for us since we got her. Love our little void.

All the black cats I've interacted with are the sweetest. Once a outdoor barn cat that didn't even know me was already rubbing up against me and asking for head pats. Later a sweet girl at our cat shelter named candy, she was so playful even though she was blind. It took a while for her and her sister to be adopted, luckily they are both now with a loving family.

I adopted a black kitten a week ago and on the day 2 she was already glued to me, she is so affectionate, playful and sweet. We watch videos together, eat, play, sleep and she follows me everywhere, always jumping on me, meowing at me, wanting attention, a true warm and cuddly companion🖤

I never wanted a cat, especially a black cat, and then my Bombay, Vinnie came into my life. He just turned 7 and we’ve had him a little over 2 years. It makes me cry thinking about how much he’s changed my life. He’s an amazing, affectionate little boy who follows me everywhere, headbutts me, and meows at me all day. He’s one of the best things to ever have happened to me 🖤

I adopted my black cat, Inara, during my senior year of college. She's helped me so much with my battle with depression. At my lowest points, she's given me a reason to live, so I think she has literally saved my life. I'm doing better these days - she's always doing something to make me smile or laugh.

My kitten is a black cat and he is super friendly. A few people have commented "why a black cat" or "they bring bad luck", "blah blah blah...". If you ask me, I consider myself the luckiest person just by giving him a forever home and in return he gives me lots of laughs, joy and love.

We got a black kitten, Nigel, when my mother became terminally ill 2 years ago. He has brought us nothing but joy and love during a very difficult time. We don’t know what we would do without him ❤

3 days ago I decided to rescue a teenage black cat I saw online. Thanks to Jackson Galaxy I decided to bring her sister along 😄 Celeste is black and white, and Elvira is completely black with green eyes. Even though they’re still a little bit shy, they’re getting comfortable by the day and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you for your work!

My little fur daughter Freya is the sweetest girl. She brings good to me every single day. One of my neighbors recently told me that she has never liked black cats but she looked into Freya's eyes and was totally drawn in. She's a blessing, not a curse.

My black cat is my little angel. She is painfully shy, has some anxiety issues, clumsy. But she’s got this heart of gold that really makes me believe she came in to my life when I needed her most.

Fun story about her, we adopted her during the time I was being diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome (Lupus’s sister disease). I was constantly in pain and my joints were horribly inflamed. I was only about 26 at the time. I became so depressed because of how badly I physically felt. We went to my local shelter since we had just moved out from my mom’s home. She had a scab on her head from a fall of her’s. She was hiding the whole time under this bench. She only came out for me and my wife. The shelter ladies were saying this is our sign. So we scooped her up and have never been happier. Now back to my illness, I was having an awful flare up. Enough where I couldn’t even eat breakfast. I just sat there crying. Then all of a sudden she popped up from hiding. She had been with us for a month by that point. So she was still getting use to the home and only came out to eat at night. It was the 1st time she ever came out during the day. She kept head butting me to pet her. So I did. Little by little I fought through the pain and was finally able to eat. Then she went back to hide in her usual spot.

After that day, she came out more and more. She comforts me on my worst days. Sometimes even laying on my really inflamed legs when the flare up is unbearable and I can’t walk. Her little body feels so nice on my legs during those times. I think she knows it too. She even showed my other 2 kitties to do the same. They stretch out on my legs and chest the most. She literally had no idea that if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have even bothered to try anymore. I’m doing better now since then. I take medicine that helps keep things from happening so often. Obviously my bad days still occur on occasion. But my sweet loaf Shadow (I love calling her sweet bread or sweet loaf), is always right there to make me feel better. I like to think she knows that I’m in pain and wants to do what she can to help me. Even if it’s just taking her afternoon nap on my swollen joints. She truly is my special little angel and I thank whatever power it was that delivered this angel when I needed her most. She’s still painfully shy and still hides all the time (we think she was abused in her past, she shows lots of signs of this). But more and more, I see her growing and opening up. She plays with her siblings more often. She squeaks when it’s time for meals! She has her favorite spots that she will push her siblings out of the way for! She’s become a little diva at times! She’s getting older and I recently changed her food to elderly kitty food. She really loves it! But best believe I’m going to shower her in all the love I can while she lives out her golden years. She is my reason to keep fighting and I can’t thank her enough for that special gift she left me.

Sorry this was so long! But I couldn’t help but want to share how much she truly means to me! 🖤🐈‍⬛🖤

I adopted my void kitty specifically because she was a void kitty. Best impulse decision I have ever made. And she is DEFINITELY lucky because she has extra toes on ALL her paws ❤

As a previous black cat owner sadly he passed away. He was a feisty one not much for cuddles or being picked up. He was a "I'll come to you when I want your attention or require something." type of cat. Compared to my grey and white cat where she will let me do just about anything to her. I never felt like he brought me bad luck infact I wanted him specifically because he was a black cat. My heart still hurts to this day years later after I lost him because he was my first cat. I love him so much.

My black kitty Luna has honestly been so good to my life, even helping me improve myself by learning to take care of her. One of the best things to happen to my life, she's brought nothing but positivity and love.

Black cats are angels, my girl helped me through a lot of trauma, she sadly passed away on 18.10.22, love from a cat is unparalleled and a blessing. I’m totally broken. Thank you for giving them the credit they deserve.

I adopted a black cat a year ago, I was surprised they let me adopt him so close to Halloween (Because I respect that most places halt black cat adoptions). He wasn't even the kitten I was looking to adopt, and while I was looking at the one I was originally interested in...this tiny black kitten bravely climbed into my lap and stayed there. He chose me. And he's been my derpy buddy ever since!

My first two cats were black, I was instantly drawn to them at the Rehoming centre. The lady that was walking round with me said afterwards it’s a shame there aren’t more people like me because black cats are the hardest to rehome. I specifically wanted older cats. The female blackie was six very petite a sleek absolutely gorgeous. Very verbal the older gentleman was approximately 10 or possibly older, and had been in the Rehoming centre for several years. I took one look at Gem and knew he was going home with me. I didn’t change their names. Unfortunately Gem was much older than first thought and he had undiagnosed kidney failure. The first week both cats slept most of the time. The vet wanted me to put Gem through several stressful tests and I refused. I made sure he was on medication that would support his kidneys but I wanted this old man to be loved, to eat anything he wanted and to know that his last few months he was loved, warm and safe. He was my first cat to pass away in my arms and I was devastated at the time but I least his last months where happy. Blackie lived to the ripe old age of 18.

My sister's black cat is the best cat ever. Several years ago, Mom was having a heart event and Kelly had just gotten off a work shift and was dead asleep. Leela woke Kelly up in time to call an ambulance and get Mom to the hospital. Mom is still with us today at 101 years old! We also call Leela Nurse Kitty.

I just adopted my little spooky-floof Ichabod (Ichy-Boy as I’ve been calling him) earlier this month. I went to a free adoption event at one of my local shelters and I almost missed him. Had I not left my water bottle in their kitten room and went back for it, I wouldn’t have noticed him hiding in one of the upper kennels. He’s such a loving boy, very chatty, and wicked smart. He was a stray before and was pretty wary of new people, but he’s made great strides in the month that I’ve had him. I absolutely adore him and I love having him as my little buddy 🤗🐈‍⬛

Thank you for talking about black cats! They are amazing! My fluffy Mishka( a gentle giant of a cat) has passed away recently from a heart condition. Never scratched, never hissed, just liked to cuddle. He was a handsome black fluffy. Now we have another black fluffy boy named Vlad and he is the cutest and sweetest little boy. I love all cats but black ones hold a special place in my heart.
