The ULTIMATE Self Improvement Book Tier List

There are tons of self improvement books out there claiming to help you become wiser, make more money, and be more productive. But some are better than others. So today I'm making the ultimate tier list of some of my favorite (and least favorite) self improvement/self help books I've read over the past few years.

Links to the books on Amazon:

Most of these are great books for self development and I would highly recommend. As George R.R. Martin said, “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.”

Drop a comment if I missed one of your favorites!

Have a nice life :)

I'm currently Deep Work, it is one of the book that you really should take note and write some of the information exactly what's in that book, because unlike philosophy or biography you can paraphrase everything and interpret in your own way, but in terms of tactical and technical books you need to absorb it, specially if you want it and in the position that you need the info about that book.

Exactly, some time the author has one idea and can explain it in 5 minutes but write an entire book about it ! Robin’s book is exactly that !!

You don’t have to buy them from Amazon. You can get apps now that are connected to the library that are connected to your kindle. Keep the highlights. I gotta read within 2 weeks tho.

Great stuff Ben! I'm currently reading 'the subtle art of not giving a fuck' which is really good and I want to read '12 rules of life' so exciting that you rated it so highly!

I like these kind of ratings and self help books is something I like to read.
I don't personally agree on most of the ratings here though.
While I like Jordan Peterson, I disliked his 12 rule book. I find it very unorganised and contains strange religious ramblings and talk about the bible. It is like hearing someone from 100 years ago speak. Personally, I cant take anything in the text seriously after that.
It has a few good advice given though, like the philosophy of "clean your room". That is to first take care of what is closest to you before trying to save the world.
A agree on placing the 5 second rule at the bottom. A real waste of time. The rule is to count to 5 and then do the thing you need to do. Somehow this simple rules is expanded to a whole book which gives no more advice at all.

I would place "No more mr nice guy" a bit higher up. I don't agree with the motivation here that it contains no real advice on how to actually "do it". On the contrary I find it very hands on with lists of advice and short chapters with one important point on how to actually do it. Easy read without too many words blurring the message.
