I'm from the South & have a canopy bed. I had curtains up a few yrs back & it was so much fun. It brought the kid out in me! Felt like I was in a some secret hiding place. lol😉

This would actually be perfect for slanted ceilings. If you cut the curtains on the shorter side, you wouldn't get the weird uneven feeling of a straight across canopy bed with the tilted ceiling

When I first thought about doing this, I originally considered using a flexible ceiling curtain track, but this idea is way better!

You can get beefier hardware to screw into the joists if you want real bed hangings. They used curtains that closed to make a small warm bubble for sleeping.
I grew up in an old house with no central heat. This stuff gets real important in winter.

It's kinda neat how this version of a canopy bed is actually pretty similar to a medieval way of doing it. Rather than having wooden posts supporting the canopy, you could have a metal frame hanging from the ceiling that held the curtains. You'd also have a piece of fabric over top that created a little 'ceiling' over you and hung over the sides to hide the rod and top of the curtains. Something like that or what you've done is MUCH easier to move houses with as well.
