Haunting of Hill House was just okay for me too. I skimmed over a good amount of it and it was not scary or creepy at all. Also thanks for that part of House at the Botton of the Lake. Will be skipping that one.

I know I'm in the minority (at least according to Goodreads) but House at the Bottom of a Lake was a 5/5 for me, I just loved the concept and everything about it

I didn't really care for the Haunting of Hill House either but I'm glad I read it... the Netflix (I think, too many streaming services...) show on the otherhand was great (but it does not follow the book at all.0 I will not be picking up the other books you mentioned, thanks for the heads up :)

I am Legend... I didn't realize it was a short story, and was halfway through the next story in my copy of the book, and was like wait did he time travel? I was so bored I didn't know the book had ended, oops :P

Could not get into Haunting of Hill House either. I think for me, she went into too much detail and the sentences were run on as hell if I remember correctly.

I was really disappointed by the house at the bottom of the lake too. I think I might have liked it better if the ending was was different, it just made the story completely pointless

I hated "The Haunting of Hill House" and "The Turn of the Screw"... To this day, I honestly can't understand WHY people like them at all.... I can respect people liking them, but I just don't get it.

I didn't care for the Haunting of Hill House as much as I thought I was going to either. I read some horror books the past month or two that really popped out to me that I didn't care for that much like Elizabeth by Ken Glendall and Those Across the River by Christopher Buehlman. I read a few that were just not my style too so didn't consider them bad but just not my style of story like Dracula in Love by John Shirley and Tatterdemon by Steve Vernon . I have I am Legend and haven't read it yet... we'll see. Thanks for sharing! ~ Tracey

I am legend and house on haunted Hill are on my TBR list and I've been looking forward to them. Not so much after this video lol

I want to dunk on The Fireman by Joe Hill. Just so bad and too much of it.

I didnt care for Camp Slaughter either 😕 the characters were all very one dimensional. I dont remember any of their names or anything about them 😅
I also didn't care too much for Clown in a Cornfield.. it was a half step above camp slaughter but not by much. I just don't think I'm really into slasher horror books in general 🤷‍♀️
And I also agree about I am Legend.... I just don't get all the hype. Personally I liked the movie way better.
Other horror books I didn't like:
The Silent Companions
A Head Full of Ghosts
Kill Creek (this one was just an average read for me)
In My Father's Basement (again just average)
