My coworker found out about two weeks before she delivered. I worked by her every day, and nothing about her changed. But sure'nuff - she came back to the office with a healthy little newborn three weeks later!

The best thing is to hear this young woman speak to how happy she is, how much she loves her child, how helpful and supportive her parents are and seeing her smile when she speaks of her daughter. That’s love and it’s beautiful 😊

Her: I actually lost weight.
Her: I didn't show at all.
Her: I had mild cramps.
Every other mama: I hate you.

My daughter found out she was pregnant when she was already about 7 months into the pregnancy. It didn't show, she had her periods, but felt nauseous sometimes and a little weak so she visited three different doctors trying to find out what was wrong. The first 2 doctors missed it. She now has a 4 year old son who is just a blessing to have.

I have never heard of a cryptic pregnancy before. I thought she had to solve a puzzle before she could give birth 😂

I knew a lady who didn't realize she was pregnant until she was 7 months along... and it was her 3rd child. She told me that based on her first 2 pregnancies, she wouldn't have thought it was possible to go that far without realizing it. But her 3rd was totally different-- no symptoms, no weight gain or obvious body changes, monthly bleeding, and the placenta was positioned in a way that "muffled" the baby's movements. It wasn't until she felt a good strong kick that she was like, Uh oh, I know what THAT is.

Honestly I’ve always questioned stories like these, like how can you not know your pregnant?!? Until the same thing happened to my SIL. She went to the hospital for severe back pain, which turned out was back labor. She gave birth to a healthy 5lb baby boy. She had no idea she was pregnant, no one did. I’ve seen her multiple times before birth, she was actually losing weight from their first baby. She had no signs, even still got her period the whole 9months. I swear if I didn’t see her for myself I would have thought she has hiding her pregnancy. Look at the six pack mom, she was 9months pregnant with absolutely no baby bump but gave birth to a 8lb baby. The body really is amazing and what science and doctors think they know is only the beginning of what they don’t.

For anyone wondering, you cannot menstruate while pregnant, no one can, it's physically impossible. Bleeding can happen though for other reasons and that's what she experienced.

The first thing in my mind is, this woman, who had no idea she was pregnant and then suddenly gave birth to a baby....Holy s***! How traumatic would that be just by itself! I mean seriously, that is an life-altering event- the level of shock would be freaking horrendous (I mean damn, it is for most people who know about it 9 months beforehand). So double high fives for this lady for rolling with that flow cuz holy crap, that's quite the roller coaster to have been on and not known about.

This happened to me also! I didn't find out until the day she was born in may 2020. I didn't get periods at all, and had no obvious symptoms. I did yoga daily for two hours or more, and actually lost weight too. No one in my family noticed any changes in my appearance, and neither did I. She was born naturally, I was completely alone with only the doctors and nurses for her delivery. I suffer from PTSD because of it. This is just like my story, it's fricken weird. I also live with my parents, and I asked my dad for help, couldn't get off the floor because the pain was so bad. They also help me out raising her. I also wanted to point out that I'm 38. I was almost 36 when she was born. Edit: my daughter wasn't from a random person, but someone I had dated, lived with, and broken up with. He's completely involved in her life. We both Co parent, and it works out fine.

"It's just like a different kind of happy that you don't know until you have a baby." Brilliantly put and so true!

1 on 2500 is a lot! I had no clue it was this common! So, we have around 10k births a day in the US, so that’s 4 babies everyday that are born without mom knowing she was pregnant!

I went to school with someone who didn't know she was pregnant. Had "kidney" pains for 2 days then finally went to the ER and left with a beautiful, healthy baby girl.

“A different kind of happy that you don’t know until you have a baby.” Truer words were never spoken! What a lovely young woman, so positive!

My mom had me the same way (premature though but healthy) only knew hours before i was born through C Section, my parents says i am their surprise baby & my mom had a condition where if she wanted to have a baby she would need stitches & be in trendelenburg position majority of her pregnancy because of her previous pregnancy & miscarriages, so they decided to give up on having babies. I am 28 now & whenever my birth story comes up, i can see the sparkle in their eyes & feel like i made these two people so happy by just being born & by being their miracle baby. My maternal grandfather used to introduce me to a new person everytime with my birth story with so much excitement & how nobody believed that my mom was pregnant. God i miss him so much.

I worked with a lady who had this... as a woman you think how is this possible? How can you not know? But, I worked everyday alongside her, she didn't show, had no symptoms and when she went to the ER for what she thought was the flu, was landblasted when she delivered a healthy baby boy 15 minutes later. 😊
The miracle of life is so mysterious. Blessings to you

A friend of mine found out she was pregnant exactly 2 weeks before her due date at age 45. She thought it was menopause and never gained weight (plus she already had two kids and even knew what to expect and it was still a surprise).

She is so lucky that her baby was born healthy after zero prenatal care! 💗 Also, the bleeding she mistook for menstruation definitely wasn’t a normal period because it is impossible to menstruate while you are pregnant. I am just glad that her cryptic pregnancy ended up with a positive outcome. I had a friend that had had pregnancy tests multiple time (both blood and urine) that came back negative for months and she didn’t find out that she was pregnant until she was in her third trimester!

I had a co-worker find out she was pregnant at 25 weeks. She had never wanted to have kids and to find out she was pregnant and as far along as she was she was upset (at first) because she said she'd have had an abortion had she known earlier. She was planning on putting the baby up for adoption, but when she first felt the baby move she started to doubt whether she actually could do that. She ended up having a baby girl at 37 weeks (just 3 months after finding out) and she said she immediately knew she was going to keep her because she loved her just like that. It's funny, really, because she and her husband were completely against having kids and they took so well to parenting. That former co-worker quit after having her daughter and became a stay at home mom. They're such good parents and their daughter is 11 now and the absolute sweetest little girl. She was a special gift that they hadn't even known they wanted (or so they told me). So sometimes pregnancies like this are blessings in disguise.

the same thing happened to me until I started leaking colostrum. it was at that point that I took a pregnancy test and found out. I had 0 nausea, 0 pain, didn't gain weight, and didn't start showing until 6 months, about a month after I found out. even at 9 months, people thought I was much less pregnant than I was. I now have a 10-month-old son. he's awesome:)
