Look at a Filipino food or dessert recipe then get the name of the actual ingredient or the closest substitute. Bring the list to an Asian grocery and ask if they have the ingredients or if they can order them for you. Buy enough to experiment with.

When you're cool with the recipes, buy a whole bunch of Filipino food stuffs and drinks to throw a party with for your friends. Bring in a karaoke or videoke machine and ask some Filipinos to come as singers to be paid with free food. It will be a gorgeous party.

Dallas has a huge Filipino store called Seafood City. You can find all the ingredients for Halo-halo, Pancit, Lumpia etc. in that store.

Making it Happen is a popular channel of a European couple who are now based in Metro Manila. They might be helpful to you in regards with local experiences and no-how as they are well-traveled all across the Philippines.

Most of those ads are places in visayas & luzon. Here with us in mindanao they can't just easily showcase & released because they are nationally afraid what will happen to tourists here in southern part of Philippines. Especially here in zamboanga portion where we mixed with our muslim bros&sis. I just wondered why they were so scared.

When you guys are going to the Philippines? I would highly recommend TAO EXPEDITION if you guys really want to experience the best Philippine island hopping adventures from El Nido to Coron in Palawan.
I would also suggest to visit the Philippines during summer season February-May, or else you wouldn’t enjoy the visit during rainy or typhoon season.
How I wish I could see you guys in person but I currently live here in Dubai. Can’t wait to see your Philippine adventure videos!
