Types of Evaluation Placement, Prognostic, Formative and Summative

There are four main types of evaluation commonly used in education: placement evaluation, prognostic evaluation, formative evaluation, and summative evaluation.

1. Placement evaluation: Placement evaluation is used to determine a student's initial skill level or knowledge in a particular subject. This type of evaluation is often used to determine the appropriate placement of a student in a particular course or program.
2. Prognostic evaluation: Prognostic evaluation is used to predict a student's future performance in a particular subject or course. This type of evaluation is often used to identify students who may be at risk of failing or who may need additional support.
3. Formative evaluation: Formative evaluation is used to assess student progress during the learning process. This type of evaluation is often used to provide ongoing feedback to students and teachers, and to make adjustments to instruction as needed.
4. Summative evaluation: Summative evaluation is used to assess student achievement at the end of a learning period, such as at the end of a course or academic year. This type of evaluation is often used to make decisions about student promotion or graduation, and to measure the effectiveness of instructional programs.

शिक्षा में आमतौर पर चार मुख्य प्रकार के मूल्यांकन का उपयोग किया जाता है: प्लेसमेंट मूल्यांकन, भविष्यवाणिय मूल्यांकन, रचनात्मक मूल्यांकन और योगात्मक मूल्यांकन।
