This remarkable journalistic outcome makes it clear that all of us need to support media outlets.

All of these groups just shows how so many people are lost and looking for something outside of themselves.

I hope the feds also charge the Fernandez sisters' parents for what they did to their daughters, although I doubt that they will. I'm sure that mom and dad mentally justified the horrors they inflicted on their daughters and now blame it all on that charismatic dwarf, Keith.

Looks like Daniella learned one good thing. That Freedom is just another name for Nothing left to lose. And the little bird spoke to her soul.

The display of affection is known as “lovebombing, ” a technique common to cults.

I am researching domestic or family violence. The abuser in these situations uses the exact same tactics as cult leaders.

I'd like to say it's almost impossible to tell someone they're in a cult and to get out, what you can do tho is let them know you love them and want to be a part of their life and show them articles and videos of other survivors. It took me like 2 years to get out of Younique because I had to find out for myself it's a scam but I could only do it knowing I had other friends who cared for me and wanted me to be happy.

The upstate New York outfits on the audience members asking questions are amazing.

There are so many things in life that will be hard for people to believe and understand until they have their own close experience with it. Ideally as people are on the planet longer with eyes open, they see more of what's out there and can recognize the signs.

Really enjoyed this speech Chet did, Very interesting, I have been blown away by this particular story, Cults scare me, how people get involved, The questioning was fascinating, Chet should start his own magazine !, ,

People have been trained to be fanatics of one thing or another: deities, sports, musicians, actors, CEOs, “geniuses”... The cult of personality is quite prevalent and people just love believing in the concept of a chosen one. Thank most of Hollywood movies for it.

What happens with cults is that initially the leader is just a narcissistic conman playing with his ability to influence others. But as things develop and money and influence begin to flow in there has to be more discipline and the dogma takes on more importance. The guru (or whatever) is forced to stay "in character" all the time. What had earlier been just an act becomes the very core of his personality. He can't ever just be his normal self because others are always watching and if they see through the act the whole delusional bubble could burst very quickly. So it's inevitable. The leader will eventually start believing his own lies. And when he does he is even more deluded than his followers. That's about the point when the cult becomes so dysfunctional that people start to wake up and leave.
