Also kinda proof is that two different numbers always have a number between them. But there is no number between 1 and 0.9999….. so 1=0.9999…..

Wow. Is it the same when we apply 0.96 =1 cuz rounding to the closer number? 0.996.... what happens if it's 0.94 then?

for the first explanation, remember that there are infinite 9s, and because ∞ - 1 = ∞, it does work, since if it was only 0.9999 (or any other amount of 9s) 0.9999 * 10 = 9.999, and 9.999 - 0.9999 = 8.9991. infinity makes the .999... on both numbers cancel out as it is still infinity
