Saw some great racing today...between all the wrecks. Fast. Lots of passing. Best Texas race I've seen in years. Hoping the new Cup cars make a good show of it, as they did at Autoclub and Vegas.

I love when people say “those stands are empty” at a track like Texas, when in reality the crowd at Texas is generally the same size crowd you get at Martinsville, which is always sold out. It’s just Texas has massive stands that aren’t being removed because, well they’re kind of part of the super structure. It’s just perspective. Also, I was at this race and it was actually pretty exciting. And Texas does a lot of really cool and fun things around the track that anyone who hasn’t ever been there doesn’t see or know about. The team at Texas Motor Speedway does a great job of putting on a show, regardless of how bad the actual racing product might be.

Texas proves it again that it is the worst track in the Cup Series. Make this failure of a track into a short track not Auto Club.

I do remember Harry Gant who had been 7 laps down winning in what looked like a beat up modified. I forgot year track or series. in the 70's I'd guess. quitters don't win is the lesson to be learned.
