That's pretty interesting. Why was I thinking that this box needed to be grounded to work properly. Like if you wanted to make a fair day cage to sleep in, "that size ". Out of say aluminum window screen all aluminum sides would have to be connected and the box would need to be grounded to properly block. I don't know why or how that works, I saw it in some research. But this experiment works without, how come? and what would be the difference in grounding the box?

The speed of light is 3*10^8 m/s. Assume your radio frequency is 100Mhz = 10^6Hz, you only need a cage with holes smaller than 3 meters to block it. Why do you make the hole on the box so small? Correct me if I am wrong here please.

Based on your drawing it seems like it would be AMPLITUDE limited by the hole diameter, not wavelength. The time dimension defining wavelength is not a dimension at play in the "hole" in the foil.
