Most violinist (and I'm talking the best in the world), when they play this concerto, it sounds like a bunch of scales. With Augustin, however, it sounds like music. At 24:00, right after the double stop, watch how he strikes the low note. And he does it again at 24:05. That is old-school Heifetz style playing. I suppose the difference is with Augustin, and the rest of the violin word, he knows what make the violin sound good, how to make it speak, and how to make music for crying out loud. So many musicians are so far stuck up their you know what, running around here talking about respecting the composer that they totally forget how to actually make music. They all sound like robots. And this concerto is notorious fickle. Even if you play it in tune it still sounds out of tune. Yet, Augustin has found a way to finesse it so it sounds so simple, logical and actually pleasant to listen to. Bravo - AGAIN. He is really killing it, one concerto after the next.

Hadelich is fantastic, but I have to say, this orchestra is accompanying and supporting him incredibly well. Those natural horns and light vibrato from the strings add a lot to this performance

Augustin is extraordinary plus the orchestra is a perfect match honoring Beethoven. ¡¡ BRAVO !!

This is an amazing performance! The sounds the on high notes are so clean and beautiful. It sounds like singing. The conductor and all the musicians in the orchestra look so much dedicated as well. It is very moving and touching performance.

Let's hear it for the sound engineer who made this wonderful interpretation possible.

Beyond beautiful. This orchestra understands Beethoven. The horn section is finally allowed to play outright. The Bass and Celli keep the entire life of this concerto--which might also have been another symphony, given the fabulous musical ideas herein. The soloist's job is to rip us a new Beethovinian "heart." He does so here, for sure. Bravo!

I hardly ever listen to CD's anymore as there are so many completely satisfying and utterly fantastic recordings now on YouTube. I've been such a fan of this piece I had to stop listening to it for a while. Now this! I'm not able to stop listening to this.
I'm hearing passages in the orchestral parts I've never heard before.

Great to hear a fresh interpretation, and satisfying to see bow placement so perfectly and purposefully done.

compared to other performances, this was the cleanest and most pleasant interpretation. It is powerful in its own right. And listening to specific passages really brings down the fact that Hadelich is a versatile violinist as well as a really kind person (kinda weird, but you get it)

I've heard everything that can be found on YouTube, and this is by far the best to my ears. Thank you, dear musicians.
